Attend the Independence Day Celebration at Klyde Warren Park

Get a little patriotic by attending the Independence Day celebration at Klyde Warren Park in Dallas. With live music, games, contests, food vendors, and fireworks, you will have several opportunities to take some cool photos. The combination of the tall downtown buildings and the park greenery will make an excellent background for your photos. Pro tip: Wear something bright so you really pop in your photos!

June 29 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

2012 Woodall Rodgers Freeway, Dallas, TX 75201

Stroll Around Highland Park Village

Highland Park village is one of the most Instagrammable places in DFW! It is an upscale shopping center in Dallas with Spanish-influenced architecture and a variety of luxe shops. Fun fact: Highland Park Village was the first self-contained shopping center in America and was declared a historic landmark in 2000.

With Instagram-worthy greenery, a notable movie theater built in the thirties, and other historic buildings, you will find several photo opportunities here. Pro tip: Take photos on the famous patio or the stairs with elaborately decorated tiles as well as the clock tower. These are some of the most popular photography locations in Highland Park Village.

If you go there in the evening, you’ll find string lights in certain areas of the shopping center providing the glowing background you need for your photos!

Anytime between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

47 Highland Park Village, Dallas, TX 75025

Get Artsy in Deep Ellum

Deep Ellum’s various cool locations and vibrant arts and entertainment scene gives you several options. We recommend stopping by “The Traveling Man” art installations and the Deep Ellum murals.

The Traveling Man is the name of a trio of art installations, each placed in different corners of Deep Ellum. Each installation is a smiling, robot-like figure made of steel representing various aspects of the Deep Ellum neighborhood. Not only does The Traveling Man make for a cool photo opportunity, it has an interesting story!

Deep Ellum also has several beautiful murals you can stand in front of for photos. If you’re feeling exceptionally proud of being from Dallas, we recommend the VisitDallas mural.

Anytime, but preferably the “golden hour.” The golden hour, which is the period right after sunrise or right before sunset, will give your selfies a soft and sunny glow!

Traveling Man locations:

  • 2605 Elm St., Dallas, TX 75226
  • 2586 Gaston Ave., Dallas, TX 75226
  • Swiss Ave., Dallas, TX 75204
